As a Rider:
Tell us a little about your background as a competitor and trainer:
I started riding when I was three with my Dad in leadline showing Sonny Bar Joker.
I went on to show Appaloosas throughout my youth.
What is your favorite event to compete in?
Western Pleasure
What as been the most memorable moment for you in the barn?
So far the most memorable moment at J/S was Snuffy and Sandy winning Junior Western Pleasure at Nationals.
What has been the most memorable moment for you in the show ring?
My most memorable moments in the show ring were; my Reserve World Champion on Debtonation in Junior Western Pleasure, and preparing my first top five horse at the Quarter Horse Congress for the Williams Family. (Kassi Williams – Chip Says (top 5 Bivuce Tiytg Western Pleasure 14-18).
What does riding and showing mean to you?
Riding and showing is all I know and all I have ever done. It is who I am. I love to educate the horse and rider. There is nothing like taking an uneducated horse from the beginning and seeing that finished product in the show arena. It is even more gratifying to put the Non Pro or youth on and see them be able to get everything they can out of that horse and be happy with their ride. That’s what it is all about.
Long term goals: My long term goals are the same as everyone’s’. Build a business, have a place of my own, be lucky enough to be successful. I have several other goals to reach before that happens. I want to thank Jim and Sandy for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their team and letting me do my part. I have learned so much already and so much more to go.
Thank you, Kelly
