Sandy and Jim are both carded judges with the Appaloosa Horse Club and the American Paint Horse Association. They have been judging for over twenty years but both feel that continuing education is a big part of being a good judge. Sandy is also carded with AQHA, NRHA, NRCHA, and NSBA.
They have judged in six different countries and forty -six states. They are grateful for the friendships they have made and places they have seen throughout the world due to being involved with horses.
Jim and Sandy have judged such major shows as the APHA World Championships, the National Appaloosa Show, Cowboy Classic, Houston Livestock Show, Waco Winternational and Tall-Timber Circuit. Both feel that judging gives a better perspective to showing and also helps them keep abreast on what is happening in the horse business around the country.

Jim’s favorite events to judge include the roping, working cow horse and reining. He says a good horse is a pleasure to judge in any event from reining to working hunter. Sandy enjoys judging all events and her enthusiasm for judging is apparent watching her judge. She enjoys the youth and amateur classes and strives for each competitor to feel they got a chance to really show their horse to her.
